Have an event that’s perfect for music, but don’t have room for a 25-person chorus. Don’t worry. Ask an LGCW ensemble to sing!
The LGCW has two standing ensembles (and has been known to create “one performance only” ensembles for special events.) If you would like an ensemble to sing for an event that you are hosting, telephone the LGCW at (202) 546-1549.
Nuance
Nuance is a male a cappella ensemble of three tenors. These gentlemen combine their voices to produce a distinct, close harmony sound with a contemporary flair. Nuance's repertoire includes heartfelt ballads, freedom songs, spirituals, and songs that reflect the joy and spirit of the diverse gay and lesbian community. From somber to jubilant their style is always elegant and entertaining. As part of their community outreach, Nuance has performed at special events for the Whitman-Walker Clinic, Brother Help Thyself, Second Saturday on Capital Hill, Montgomery Pride, and the University of Maryland's Lavender Graduation. Not What You Think (an ensemble affiliated with the LGCW)
Not What You Think (NWYT) is a 12-person ensemble of men and women performing pop, light jazz, and folk. NWYT opened for the Fabulous Flirtations 5 times. The Kennedy Center featured NWYT in the Foyer Series before the opening of Angels in America. NWYT started as an ensemble of the LGCW. The ensemble now operates as a separate organization, and is proud to be affiliated with the LGCW.
